Today, we're going to talk a little bit about overwhelm.
This is one of the biggest things we see with women entrepreneurs or successful women
who have something they're starting on the side, is they just feel like they
don't know what to do next or they're busy doing all these things, and they're
overwhelmed and feeling like they're not actually getting traction. So this is one
of the things we work on in a lot of our programs. And I'll share more about that in a
little while, but how do you move forward? How do you really see, what, how to be spending your time?
And so the first thing we say, and we have a video on how do you go for your game,
and so the first thing's to really be clear on what is the biggest goal
or the game that you're going for because that makes everything a little bit clearer. Right?
If you know exactly what it is you want to move forward,
if that's an amount of money or a project, you know, have a measurable goal there,
then that makes it clearer immediately what kinds of actions you should be taking. Right?
If this, if this thing that's on your list isn't going to move you toward that goal and that game,
then maybe that's something you don't need to be focusing on right now. It could wait until later, right?
Gigi, you have a practice as well we share around getting things out of your mind, right?
Yeah. It's simple, I mean, and I think people know it, but often, when we're in overwhelm, we forget.
It's as simple as take pens, paper and write down everything that's in your mind.
Get it down on paper because immediately, then what you can do is you can see.
You can go, okay, what can I delegate first of all?
What is just something that I'm distracting myself with that has nothing to do with, like you said, the goal or the game, right?
And then, what is it that I, in terms of prioritizing the things that are left? Right?
So that's, and what that does is it makes it super simple and super clear instead of keeping it all up here in our minds,
which we do, and feeling completely frustrated about it. Yeah.
Yeah. That's one of the biggest things with overwhelm is everything is in your head. Yeah.
And the minute you get it all down on paper,
like write all down anything that's distracting you, any task you think you need to be doing,
and you see that and then you start to put them into these buckets sort of of, what can I delegate?
What do I cross off for now? Right? Then, that really just can take immediately a lot of the overwhelm out of things.
If you're an ideas person, I think this is really helpful too,
is to ... any new ideas that come up, if they are not actually moving you toward that game, you write them down for later, right?
Yeah. I even, tell people open up a document on your desktop, in your computer called ideas, and
any time you have a new idea, put it there so you know it's safe. It's not going anywhere, right?
This is why ideas people, they get overwhelmed because they're always thinking of new ideas, so put it somewhere.
You can always go back and look at that once you finished and accomplished your first game.
That's an important thing. And another piece that we see is perfectionism, so people want to get it right.
You know. Women want it to be perfect. You know, they want it to look perfect.
And in the beginning, just get something out there, ladies.
That's that's so important if you're starting a new project or you have a new idea or something.
Yeah. I think another thing that works really well, I definitely identify as an ideas person and
so I can get overwhelmed by the big picture and getting stuck in that, and so when you can take the big picture
and boil it down to bite sized pieces, then that makes a world of difference for me.
So it's like if every day, I now get just one little piece, it's what's going to build up to in two weeks,
I'll have a result. And that's like it takes so much of the overwhelm off because I stop thinking about the big
picture all the time. I think today, this is all I have to worry about is write one social media post and one e-mail.
And I do that every day for seven days, and then suddenly, traction starts to happen. Yeah that's right. That's right. Yeah yeah.
So that, I think the third piece there is taking action. So once you write it down, you have that
prioritized, boy, go into action. Knock things off your list.
Yeah, because I think a lot of overwhelm happens in our minds. Right?
It happens when we aren't in action.
We're busy thinking about the action and worrying about what will happen or not happen or something like that.
That's where perfectionism often comes in. It's self-doubt and all these other things.
When you get into the action and to the doing, then you can adjust course as needed, right?
But it's not to adjust course and switch to a completely different game.
So this can be challenging to do on your own, right?
We sit there and maybe you're feeling like, okay, well, how do know if I'm going for the right game
or you know, how do I actually do some of these things to get your couple of practices today, but it'd be really,
really helpful to also get outside support.
And make sure that the things that you're going for, because especially if you're someone who has a lot of ideas
and you have a tendency to pivot and shift your idea and go for something else, you know, it can be really,
really supportive to have someone outside of you reflecting back and helping you see, is this game
is this business, this project that you want to create in alignment for you?
Is it really the thing that you're lit up by that is going to move you in the direction you want to go in your life?
And that's a really critical piece that can be challenging to get to on our own.
So this is something we work with the women in our five-month program,
Momentum and Flow is when they come in to the life and to new beginning is we really, before we go into strategy,
before we go into any of that, we really look deeply into you and have a process for doing this
to see what is it you want, what do you want to create, and making sure that's aligned for you, right?
And then, it's really the strategy, the structure to move you there, to get you there out of the overwhelm.
So if that's something you're curious about, we really encourage you to go to yourluminalife.com/momentum.
And you can read more about that program there.
You can apply, reach out to us. We really love to hear from you.
And if you have any questions, feel free to put those in the comments below.
Thank you. Thanks, ladies. Yeah.
