
They have a nice face, a strong body, perfect skin and always seem to be bustling with energy.
A lot of the time it is not accidental.
It is developed over time.
In this video we are going to be going over 5 key ways you can live a happier and healthier life.
So it all starts in the mind.
Our thoughts are the source of our beliefs, our actions and ultimately our habits form
from the lives we lead.
Everyday the things we do, the people we surround ourselves with and the thoughts we think are
setting us up for success or failure.
We all have beliefs about ourselves and life in general – like we're not good enough,
capable enough, prone to fail at everything, and that life is stressful and hard.
But the truth is that just by existing, you already deserve to live a life which is full
of positivity and success.
So lets begin with our tip number 1 for leading a happier and healthier life.
Believe in yourself more One of the main steps to becoming a happier
and healthier person is to believe in yourself more.
We understand that sometimes not everything goes our way, and its easy to think that everything
will be a failure.
But if we start to back ourselves and believe that successful things will happen the chance
of them happening is much more likely.
Youve got to put yourself in the best position to be happier and healthier by working with yourself and
not against yourself.
Imagine yourself living the best possible life you can live, then put a plan in place to
achieve your goals.
Which brings us onto Tip number 2.
Set clear and realistic intentions for your goals.
Next, you need some kind of direction, I'm not saying you have to have it all figured
out, just understand where you are heading.
In the beginning, we would suggest just focusing on just one or two areas in your life to avoid
becoming overwhelmed.
Setting realistic goals which are achievable is always a great way to start and a great
way to build momentum.
If the main goal is to run a marathon, start off by setting the goal to run a mile.
and when that first goal is then achieved. Its time to set another goal.
Setting realistic achievable goals will give you a spark of energy and motivation every
time you experience success.
Tip number 3.
Diet is a lot more important than you think!
Now, this may not seem like a whole new idea to you, but diet is often overlooked when
it comes to simple ways to make yourself happier and healthier diet is one of the best ways you can do this.
And when speaking of 'food', we mean whole, natural and fresh foods – those that come
from the ground and are not at all or only minimally processed.
These are made for your body to consume and will leave you feel energized, satisfied and
fill you up quicker which will, in return not only make you healthier but will also
make you healthier.
Another way to approach food is to step back and be grateful for your meal and be mindful
about it, arrange it in a nice way on your plate and concentrate on it while eating.
By being mindful you will appreciate the food you eat, the way it tastes and smells and
will appreciate it much more than you would if you purchase something from the local fast food shop.
Eating a healthy balanced diet and staying hydrated will leave you feeling relaxed and
energised for the day ahead.
Now lets move onto tip number 4.
Tip number 4. Start to move more!
And actually make it fun!
So, not everyone wants to go to the gym and lift 12 reps with 4 sets and run on the treadmill
Its just not for everyone.
Instead try incorporating movement into your life in the form of having fun.
What about climbing mountains, dancing around your house while cooking that healthy food,
going down to the local swimming baths or playing some badminton in the sun?
When you have so much fun that you're forgetting about the word 'exercise' all together,
thats when you know you have found the right activity.
By finding an activity that you actually enjoy. You will crave exercising more. This will also decrease your stress levels, which in
return will make you happier and healthier.
Oh and another benefit is that regular movement will help your bowels and increase your metabolism,
which allows you to even eat a little more but still stay fit and healthy. Here is tip number 5.
So Tip number 5.
Stay light and happy. The last factor I want to talk about is stress,
which can influence you on many levels.
First off, many people eat more when they are stressed, because they have less control
over their willpower and are prone to indulge in some 'comfort foods' like chocolate and crisps.
Food like chocolate and crisps are filled with a lot of chemicals that give your brain a feel-good boost.
But as we all know, this feeling doesn't last long and is often followed by huge cravings, bloating,
sluggishness and weight gain.
Your body also produces cortisol when its stressed out – cortisol is an important
hormone, which makes you store fat more easily, suppress thyroid function and increase your
blood pressure.
Taking a few breaths here and there, not taking everything too seriously
you'll start to see you'll live a much happier and healthier life.
Stress can also cause you to not sleep sleep, which again contributes to weight gain due to a slower
metabolism and depression.
A shortened sleep time is also associated with more appetite and a lack of good decision making.
Now we are not saying if you apply all these tips over the course of the next week you
will instantly become happier and healthier.
These things take time.
But by making small changes to your daily habits you will start to see the
positive effect this has on not only your mind, but also your body.
Living a healthy life aswell should not be a phase.
It needs to be a lifestyle.
