Speaking at the Blue House to leaders of South Korea's seven major religions, the president
expressed hope the summit next week will lead to "specific and visible" steps towards denuclearization.
"We expect the second North Korea-U.S. summit next week will bring great progress towards
the denuclearization of the regime and the normalization of North Korea-U.S. relations."
The president also called for the support of all religious groups for peace on the Korean
Peninsula and said next week's summit will hopefully put some speed on the agreements
reached last year in Singapore.
President Moon also asked the religious leaders to work to unite the Korean people ahead of
the 100th anniversary of the March First Independence Movement.
That movement in 1919, he noted, was originally put together and staged by leaders and followers
of faith.
