San Diego and you might be thinking what does that have to do with life mastery
actually entrepreneurship and digital marketing or marketing in general has a
lot to do with persuasion influence but I'm gonna save that for some other
videos what really inspired me in this this morning I've been alone all day
actually I've been learning so much and it sort of got me thinking there's
really two things that you can start doing - I would call it mine the gold
within here we all have gold with us we all have
this enormous potential to do so many things and we don't even know what until
we actually try and start putting ourselves out there but most of us
unfortunately suffer from lack of confidence from lack of self-worth lack
of self-esteem none of us want to admit them we tried
to tell ourselves I'm just not interested in that I'm just not
interested in putting myself out there it's not interested in trying new things
but when we take that attitude it's more about fear about putting ourselves out
there and when that happens when we don't put ourselves out there inevitably
we suffer because we're holding down our potential we're not allowing our
potential to go far and expand and grow and express itself this is tremendously
important so how do you do that how do you tap into that so I said there's two
things that you can do it's really it's really two simple steps and as I often
say simple doesn't necessarily mean easy but that's what this video is about it's
to help make the process easier for you so to start off with you might be
thinking well where do I start what do I do do I you know I don't have
a pathway I don't have a lead-in to this of what to do think about all those
things you've been curious about trying things that you've been curious about
trying that you don't do because you're afraid it might end up in disappointment
you afraid you're afraid people might laugh at you you're afraid people will
tell you you know what are you doing what are you thinking who do you think
you are you can't do that a lot of the reason we don't try things is because we
fear humiliation we fear being disappointed if it doesn't work out but
if we take the approach that it's an exploration have we taken the approach
it's a discovery process and we tap into that curiosity it becomes completely
different you likely won't succeed it the first thing you tried and the first
thing you try out or tap into probably won't be that the
that totally fulfills you and that you enjoy doing for the rest of your life
and becomes a lifelong passion you have to try a lot of things to get there you
you're gonna try something and that's not going to work but then something
else is gonna spark your interest you're gonna go try that and then you keep
trying new things that build on that which is what we call evolution and
discovery so tap into those things that you'd
maybe thought about writing a novel maybe you thought about doing a video on
YouTube maybe you thought about doing some travel or networking are going meet
people or starting a group a social group just poke around first just dabble
in it see what happens and then gradually over time you will find
something you enjoy that you can put that expression into and that's what
it's a that's what the first step really is it's about finding that expression
finding the expression for your potential now once you find that
expression something that you really enjoy no I use myself as an example
studying NLP was that I wasn't planning on being an NLP teacher I wasn't
planning on being a teacher at all I wasn't planning on being a coach but for
to make my insurance agency grow which I hated I hated the insurance business I
was not good at it I because I tried so hard
I made it successful but it was clearly not fulfilling my
potential it was clearly not expressing that potential but I was still trying I
was thinking if I can just make it enough money if I could just make it
successful enough it will somehow work and then I'll be happy and then I can go
off and do all the fun things that I've been wanting to do well it didn't work
that way for me it actually doesn't work that way for a lot of people but a lot
of people do get caught up in a job they don't really like but it pays the bills
and they think well I just have to stick with this because I don't know what else
I would do find that expression even if you stick with the job then you don't
have to do what I did I let go of my insurance agency after 10 years you
don't have to do that but when you find expression for your potential it makes
working the job that you don't like so much a lot easier it makes life in
general a lot happier and easier so then what's the second step gave me I said it
was two steps and I'm gonna hold to that the second step is how do you
communicate that expression and this is where the marketing piece comes in
because that's all marketing is and when it's done well I mean you can have
marketing that doesn't really accurately say what the product is and so that's
that's sleazy marketing that's like the sleazy sell stuff but real marketing
communicates what that product is what the value of it is and what problem it
solves so accurately that the person who's experiencing the problem who
recognizes that right away and says oh yeah that's what I need that's what I
want and the person who doesn't have that problem says that's not what I need
that's not what I want so what accurate marketing good clean
accurate marketing helps people understand what it just is for that if
this is the value that they're looking for
so really what it is is good communication good congruent
communication and I've said this in another video and I'll I'll go ahead and
link that video to this video communication is the single most
important skill and competency that you could possibly have it is the common
denominator among all successful people no matter how you define success the
ability to communicate and so that is basically we found that expression for
your potential how do you communicate that to others and in other words how do
you share that with others because if you just keep it to yourself and that's
what a lot of people do they just keep that goal to themselves they're afraid
to put themselves out there they're afraid to share you could you know say
you're you play guitar you play piano but you only play alone
you don't let other people hear you are there's something else that you do well
maybe you you enjoy singing maybe you enjoy writing but you don't ever share
it with anyone you you have to put it out there and there's a time for it then
not saying you should put it out there right away sometimes you put it out
there too soon you haven't gained the skills you need the whatever piece of
work you're working on isn't ready to be seen so there is a time for that I'm not
saying just run out there and show everybody what you're doing takes you
know take the time to build a skill or if you're working on a work whatever
that is no the time when it's time to share but definitely share it everything
that you do in regard to expressing that gold within you should be done with the
intent to eventually share it and if you haven't done that if you well let me say
it if you have done it if you have found some gold in yourself maybe you haven't
found it all and you never do but if maybe you found some golden yourself and
you expressed it and then you've shared it then you know what I'm talking about
you know what that's like that that's the other piece to this you can't hold
it to yourself well you can but it won't help you and it won't help others so I
really believe that one of the purposes of our lives is to find
that goal express that goal hone that goals align your behavior to that goal
and then share it with the world share it with as many people as you possibly
can and that is communication communication is how we share and it's
one of the ways that we share so that is the two-step process that is just
basically fine than gold within yourself express it and then share it with the
world and so what's wonderful about being in this environment I'm not really
a marketer I mean I have to learn marketing I have to know marketing but
it's more about connecting what I do to good communication that reaches others
and reaches the people who I could help and the message that I'm putting out
there the content that I'm putting out there that it reaches the right people
who need to help and my stuff isn't for everybody my content isn't for everybody
just like you know a car is good for a certain type of car it just fits the
certain type of person but not every car fits everybody so it's not a one size
fits all so it's not about trying to please everybody it's about trying to
find the audience or share with the audience that appreciates what it is
that you do so me learning how to market better especially on the Internet is not
about trying to sell everybody we're trying to please everybody it's about
putting out a clear message that finds the intended audience people who I can
help people I can get value that's what you're looking for when
you're sharing and it doesn't have to be money you don't have to be marketing you
don't have to be running a business it could be you could share anything that
you do now this is basically the instructions for how to do this it like
I said it's it's simple but it's not always necessarily easy and this is why
good coaching is available this is why personal development books are out there
this is why personal development trainings are out there and I utilize
these tremendously I went to so many trainings and I still do and I go to
trainings like this isn't really a training it's more like a conference but
I've been learning so much every single day that I'm here that it's not directly
what I do but I get to learn something new I get to be inspired by a different
skill set most these people here are like full-time digital marketers they
they have clients they they get hired out they do contract work and that's not
what I do but I can learn so much from this about communication and I can be
inspired by it like I got inspired to do this video so get out there and do
something and if you're finding it difficult to find your gold and express
it and share it get some good coaching go to a training
start learning how you know and if you don't have much money
books are inexpensive use books or even more inexpensive so there are ways to do
this don't just sit there and think well you know something comes along that I'll
just do it or nobody wants to hear what I have to say or no find your goal it's
in there we all have it and if you don't believe it act as if you have that gold
assume you have that gold it is there find it express it share it and if
