Hi. My name is Margaret. I'm a transfer student at
Illinois State, and today I'm learning about Transfer Day.
So, what's Transfer Day and why is it so important?
The Transfer Day Program is for our incoming transfer students
to come to campus and just get really comfortable
and ready for their next semester.
So you register for your classes You get to ask all the questions
that you have, and then you get your Redbird ID card
so you make it official that you are a Redbird
So, besides register for classes, um, what else
do you do on Transfer Day?
So, I think the great thing is getting all of your questions
answered from every different department.
So, there's opportunity to walk around our information fair
stop by different tables
and answer, er, get your questions answered there.
And then the sessions are so valuable too. The presenters
have a lot of great information about academic services,
the career center, and the Dean of Students Office talking about
getting involved on campus, um,
becoming a leader and that type of thing.
How do I sign up?
It's super easy. Everything is available on our website.
So, University College will be sending out information to your
email. So make sure you check your email.
Um, visit our website and it will have all the details that
you need.
Do you have any advice for me to prepare for Transfer Day?
I think my best piece of advice would just be to come with all
of your questions and plan to spend the day with us.
So, like I said, the sessions have a lot of great information,
so attend everything. And, um, Walk around, get to know people.
There are a lot of current students who will be here.
There'll be other transfer students like yourself.
And, yeah, have the free lunch, get to know people.
We like to have fun here so I think you'll enjoy it.
