Chief Justice Dame Sian Elias steps down after 20 years service

Chief Justice Dame Sian Elias has delivered her farewell speech
as she steps down from her position after almost 20 years.
The dame is the first woman to be appointed
to the role of Chief Justice.
Dame Sian gave praise to the field of law
and her enjoyment of her time during her tenure.
The Chief Justice says
the Treaty of Waitangi remains a guiding light for NZ.
Her Honour Helen Winkelmann has been appointed
the next Chief Justice of New Zealand
and will take office on March 13.
