or even years as a side hustle.
You're super passionate and ready
to go full-time into coaching,
but you don't want to do anything stupid.
Rings a bell?
Then you've come to the right place.
Let me hit you with some knowledge.
Hi, this is Ajit Nawalkha and today
I'm going to share with you
three simple strategies on how and when
to transition from a part-time to a full-time coach.
There are so many coaches that give up their dreams
because their businesses never took off.
But it's not because they weren't good.
The truth is that many make the mistake
of quitting their jobs as soon as they discover
coaching to try it full-time.
It's then that they realize
starting a coaching business from scratch
without any other source of income
is not a sustainable way to live,
especially if you have a family
or obligations to respond to financially.
If this is your current situation,
you're not ready to become a full-time coach
or else you'll be looking for other ways
to get some extra cash every month.
Do you have any special skills?
Yes.
I do.
I do voices.
We've come to this planet looking for intelligent life.
Oops, we made a mistake.
We're happy to be in America.
Don't ask for green card.
So, avoid this mistake and get on
the right track from the start.
This is your starting point to
begin inviting clients,
building your reputation,
and growing your coaching practice.
Here are three strategies that will
set you up for success from day one,
so you can rapidly turn your side hustle
into a thriving full-time coaching business.
Your first strategy is mastering your skills.
It's impossible to build a thriving coaching business
when you're not the best coach you can be.
It's almost like wanting to become
a professional singer when your pitch
is all over the place.
Stop! Stop the madness!
So before you think about quitting
your day job and becoming a full-time coach,
make sure you've mastered
your coaching skills
and methodology first.
Understand the core coaching principles
and practices, so you can create
great results for clients over and over again.
Commit to learning everything you can
about becoming an extraordinary coach.
Enroll in coaching courses,
read great coaching books,
attend weekend seminars and retreats
where you can network and
learn from like-minded people.
When you do this, you will see
your skills will improve quickly
and you'll start to build an awesome reputation.
This is one of the fastest and most powerful ways
to create a long wait list of eager clients
and lifelong fans and followers.
The second strategy is to cover your basics.
And by basics, I mean your minimum income.
So many new coaches get so pumped
about coaching, they quit their day jobs
without even figuring out
what is the minimum income they will need to survive
and how many clients or how many
coaching hours that translates into.
The higher your expenses,
the higher your responsibilities,
the higher your minimum income is going to be.
This could work if you're already an expert coach
and you can pay your bills having a few high-end clients.
But if you're just starting,
you'll be needing to coach around the clock
just to get by.
You'll eventually feel tremendous pressure and stress
to keep going even when you're drained and depleted.
So make sure you take care of your basics first.
Follow the four steps.
First, while keeping your full-time day job,
calculate what is the minimum income you need
to live for yourself and for whoever else
that depends on you.
Second, coach in your spare time
and get as many coaching clients you possibly can take
while working on mastering your skills.
The third step is to get more experience
and start increasing your prices
until your part-time coaching
reaches your minimum incomes target.
And lastly, do this for three months or more.
If you see that your coaching income is consistent
and always either at par or slightly higher
than your minimum income target,
then you are ready to transition into full-time coaching.
The third strategy is to build your network.
Did you know many new coaches struggle to find clients
because they don't realize that their current network
is already a pool of potential clients?
Clients are everywhere.
God, it's beautiful.
The coaching industry is growing
and coaches are in more and more demand
every single day.
So, from the first day you start your side hustle,
you want to focus a bit on learning
how to become visible in this crowded marketplace.
Make this one of your priorities and
understand how to craft a personal brand
and establish your authority.
Learn how to pick a niche and market yourself
so you will be seen, heard and trusted
by the right people.
Leverage your current full-time job and environment
to make connections and build your authority
as a coach.
It will help you build rapport quicker,
sign more coaching clients faster,
and hone your coaching skills,
which will eventually skyrocket your coaching business
and allow you to have a smooth and successful
transition into full-time coaching.
Now I want to give you a bonus tip here.
This is something that most world-class coaches follow
and honestly, it's a truth bomb you have to remember.
Don't rush it.
Slow down, crazy, slow down.
So many new coaches feel the pressure
to go full-time in just a few months,
but focusing only on how quick
you can build your business will eventually
backfire on your plans.
How many car accidents happen because people
speed up trying to make it to their destinations faster?
Way too many to count.
This unnecessary pressure will make you
start cutting corners.
You will use bad hacks and risky shortcuts
where you shouldn't.
You'll take on clients who aren't right for you,
charge prices that don't reflect your worth,
and cut back on your ongoing learning
and development as a coach.
This will block you from coaching at your best
and it will damage your reputation.
The faster you try to get to full-time status,
the slower your progress.
Don't crash and burn your coaching business.
Take a deep breath and turn it down a notch.
Drive a little slower.
Focus on sustainable success,
not quick wins.
